1. Garden design

An overgrown garden was restored and redesigned with flowing borders to give all-year round interest of colour, scent, and structure. A wildlife pond and stream was included to offer added sound and visual interest, and of course benefit to wildlife.

2. Pond with stream

Detail of the pond and stream in the above garden.

3. Flowing lines

An uninspiring open area of grass was transformed by adding a pond next to the patio with a new flower border in the corner opposite. Flowing lines predominate, the patio is now a much more appealing place to relax, and wildlife has been brought closer to the house.

4. Rocks, cobbles and stream

Rocks and cobbles over landscape fabric can offer a low-maintenance yet highly attractive feature. The stream introduces the sound of running water, always a soothing influence.

5. Meadow and pond

This stunning meadow and large pond were established on ex-arable land. Seen here in its second year, the ox-eye daisies will give way to a mixture of other species as the meadow matures. Tree and shrub planting around the edges will take longer to establish but will offer much of interest to both owner and wildlife within a few years.

6. Pond dipping

Pond dipping surrounded by meadow. Perhaps the finest of all settings for a pond.
